May 14/Day 134 - Seagulls at the beach
This was taken at the Santa Monica Pier. Every time we go there, we find several people fishing and there are a lot of these seagulls flying around waiting to snatch them. At the background, the tall buildings are the ones located in Santa Monica Downtown and at the bottom are the colorful beach houses.

May 11/Day 131 - Silhouette Wednesday
Have a look at my first attempt clicking Silhouette photographs.
Sig, Nags, Siri and I decided to pick a theme for our photographs one day of the week and it was Silhouette pictures for this week. I was supposed to post this picture on Wednesday but blogger was down and hence the delay!
Here is a picture of the husband (my model ;)) drinking his evening tea! It was almost past 7:30 pm and we still had some light!

May 10/Day 130 - Flamingoes!
Fun facts about flamingoes:
- The flamingo’s pink color, which is very important for stimulating reproduction, comes from the food they eat, including algae, diatoms, and small aquatic insects and crustaceans.
- Flamingos like company! In East Africa, more than one million lesser flamingos may gather together—forming the largest flocks known among birds today.
- Standing on one leg really is their most comfortable resting position.

April 27/Day 117 - Mesob at an Ethiopian Restaurant
A Mesob is a tabletop on which food is traditionally served. The mesob is usually woven from straw, and it has a lid that is kept on it until it is time to eat. When the food is ready, the top is taken off the mesob, and the food is placed in the basin which forms the top of the mesob. An injera (made usinf teff flour) is placed in the mesob and the various dishes are served on top of the injera.
A great foodie experience it was! This picture was taken at an Ethiopian restaurant located in Little Ethiopia in Los Angeles.

These pictures were taken during a hike near the Hollywood sign. It was a clear day and we were able to get a clear view of LA Downtown. The weather was perfect and we had a great time!
In the picture below, you can actually see the side view of the Hollywood sign!
And a front view of the famous sign!
